Although The Beatles' "Hey Jude" and Franz Liszt's "Un Sospiro" are of different genres, and were written in different musical eras, both have similarities in their arrangement and form.

Music from these two eras may not sound the same, however they share similar core technical aspects that make them closely related despite the gap between them.

Both songs evoked deep emotions in listeners and other musicians alike. They were each considered revolutionary in their respective eras, using new forms in their styles of music, either with ad-libbed vocals or with innovations in keyboard technique such as the cross-over technique.
